Jaitley Soothes Sulked Andhra Pradesh

After severe criticism from all the political parties of Andhra Pradesh, including its crucial ally in Union Government -TDP, the ruling party in the state over the poor allocation of funds to the revenue deficit state, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has informed AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu that the Centre will release '3,000 crore to the State before March 31'.

According to the report of TNIE, Arun Jaitley informed AP CM that the Centre had decided to release 3000 crore. This includes ‘1,000 crore for the construction of the new capital city, 1,000 crore would be released for the construction of Polavaram Irrigation Project in addition to the 100 crore already allocated in the Union budget, and 1,000 crore to AP to make it overcome revenue deficit’.

The principle opposition party in AP legistative assembly, Yuvajan Sramika Rythu Congress Party and its chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been firing on the ruling TDP for betraying people by continuing in power at centre, despite of ignorance in the Union Budget 2015.

In reply to the comments of YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy, CM Chandra Babu Naidu told the house that they are continuing in central government just for the benefit of AP, and also reiterated that the centre can solve the problems, which the state is facing.

It is also learnt that, centre would sanction more financial aid to the construction of new capital once it went through the Detailed Project Report (DPR).

Though the Union Budget has not come across the expected grants to the state, it has mentioned 2 crore for Tribal University, 40 crore each for IIT, NIT, IIM, IISCER, and 45 crore to IIIT. It also mentioned 5.63 crore to each metro rail project in Vijayawada and Vishakapatnam. The centre has allocated 50 crore each to four districts of Rayalaseema region, and three districts of northern coastal Andhra.
