BJP, PDP to form J&K Govt says Rajnath Singh

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh insists that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are discussing over government-formation in the state, as the ‘democratic government’ will take place in Jammu and Kashmir soon. BJP and PDP have been engaged in informal talks since the declaration of election results on December 23.

State BJP president Jugal Kishore, Billawar Nirmal Singh, and BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav have met Jammu & Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra at Raj Bhavan in Jammu on Wednesday. According to the sources, BJP and PDP has finalized the alliance talks over government formation in the state says Rajnath Singh.

After one-hour long meeting with BJP Secretary Madhav has informed that the Governor over the present situation of the ongoing BJP-PDP discussions on the formation of an elected Government. The  most contentious issues like the BJP has demand for scrapping Article 370 and the PDP called for revocation of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) will not be part of the Common Minimum Programme (CMP).

PDP leader Mufti Mohammad Sayeed will be the Chief Minister for a full six- year term in the state, while the Deputy Chief Minister will be from BJP.
