Pak teachers taught to kill

The government of Khyber Pakthunkhwa province announced that teachers in Peshawar, Pakistan, will be armed and undergo rigorous  training to handle any sort terrorist attack in future. This decision was made in response to the December 16 attack on Peshwar Army school where a group of terrorists killed 145 people including 132  schoolchildren. Altogether there are 35,000 educational institutes in the province and all of them were ordered to increase the security within the premises.

The provincial cabinet has decided to allow teachers and other staff members of any college or school to keep their licensed weapon with them so that in case of unexpected attack, they could handle things for five to 10 minutes before the action team steps in. The teachers are taught how to use various handguns and other weapons as well as the how to take cover before returning fire.

However, there is a huge outrage in allowing teachers to carry weapons with them. Critics warned that this move could put children in more danger while it could have an impact on a teacher's performance. On the other hand, private schools and educational institutes have been issued strict guidelines to have guards within the school premises  or else, the license of schools could be revoked.
