Two more attempts for Civil aspirants

Civil service aspirants will now have two more additional attempts as the Central government gave green signal to the proposal of extending the number of attempts and relaxation of age. Earlier for the OC category candidates age limit of 30 years and maximum of four attempts are offered now this rule has been extended for 32 years age limit and six attempts will be granted.

The OBC category aspirants have seven attempts and adding two more will make overall nine attempts. However there is no age limit and restriction in number of attempts to the SCs and Sts category aspirants. The Civil Service Examinations is conducted by the UPSC to select Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Foreign Service (IFS) among others. The Civil Services Examination (Preliminary), 2014 is tentatively scheduled to be held on August 24, this year.
