Lokpal Bill Passed in Rajyasabha

Anna Hazare's efforts to eradicate corruption from the country have shown first indication of getting fruits in the near future.

Lokpal Bill Passed in Rajyasabha 1

Long discussions were held at Rajyasabha today from afternoon 12.30 till 5.00 pm after which voting was conducted.

Anna Hazare expressed his happiness at Ralegan Siddhi on the development and also expressed his confidence that it will be passed in the Loksabha also.

BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad appreciated the efforts made by Anna Hazare in this regard whose insistence made it possible.  He welcomed bringing Prime Minister also into the Lokpal’s purview.

Criticisms also came up that the UPA Government has made it fast after losing in four states to get the credit of getting the Lokpal Bill passed.  AIDMK MP Dr.Maitreyan said that the bill was approved in November 2011 but the Government delayed it at that time but now pushed it through for political mileage.

Whatever may be the reason the historic moment is not far now to start weeding out corrupt politicians and officers to make the country clean and prosperous through Lokpal. And the people of India will always remember the uncompromising and strong fight of Anna Hazare with the Government to achieve Lokpal.

Anna Hazare although expressed his happiness over passing the Lokpal Bill in Rajyasabha, he is continuing his hunger strike till it is finally passed in Loksabha.
