TDP President Chandra Babu Naidu participated in the Maha Dharna on Prakasham Barrage to protest against the verdict of Brijesh Kumar Tribunal on Krishna Water Disputes. He spoke on the injustice done to the Telugu people by the Tribunal’s verdict. He said that so far two verdicts were given by the tribunals and the third one is the most unjust one.
The people of 14 districts are going to be deprived of drinking water and water for cultivation, Chandra Babu fears. The tribunal did not consider the state in the downstream of the River Krishna, he doubted. He said that the Telugu people have a sentimental attachment with Krishna. He blamed the authorities telling that the water was not supplied to the farmers in time that made them put to a great loss. He also reminded that a protest was taken up with the former Prime Minister Deve Gowda when the proposal for increasing the hight of Almatty dam came up.
The Maha Dharna was attended by the TDP leaders from Krishna and Guntur districts and farmers in great numbers.
