Burden Passed on to Shinde Now

The GoM has washed its hands on Telangana issue. It has reached to the decisions on all the points excepting Hyderabad, leaving it to the discretion of the Union Home Minister.

Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde was seen somewhat impatient on Wednesday while answering the questions asked by media persons. First he said that there is still time to talk about it. For the question whether the GoM’s report will go to the Cabinet tomorrow, he said that he would reveal when it goes to Cabinet.  When asked about further GoM meetings he said that it may be there. When the question is made specific whether one more meetings will be there, he said that it will be ten in number and asked whether they feel happy for it. For the question about Hyderabad issue, Shinde said that as a Chairman of the Committee he cannot answer it and better ask other Members of GoM.

One of the Members of GoM clarified that their work is over and no more meetings of GoM would take place. All the decisions on unsolved issues are left to the Union Minister to tackle. It seems by the answers of them that all the points were concluded excepting Hyderabad and Rayala Telangana. UT status on Hyderabad is not confirmed by any.  On the contrary they all talked against it.

Keeping the intense movement at Ananthapur and Kurnool, GoM is also considering Rayala Telangana. If Kurnool goes into Telangana State then the capital problem also may not be there as it will be between Vijayawada and Vizag, as GoM thinks. Telangana leaders also think that merging these two districts in Telangana will solve the Samaikyandhra problem and pave way for the bifurcation. MIM President Asaduddin Owaissi also is in favor of Rayala Telangana. But It came to know that the Prime Minsiter Manmohan Singh is against Rayala Telangana as it may create problems in future.

Even the final Bill on Telangana is drafted but the Members of the GoM are not able to tell when the draft Bill will be submitted to the Cabinet and what happens to Hyderabad and Rayala Telangana.
