The Chief Minister of UP Akhilesh Yadav's scheme of free distribution of laptops proved costly for a girl of 18.
Usually political leaders attend a private or a public function late keeping others waiting sometimes for hours together. It happened so in Faizabad too where the function of free laptop distribution scheme launched by Akhilesh Yadav to encourage students was conducted.
A student promptly reached the venue at the scheduled time at 2.00 pm. But the Minister supposed to give away the laptops arrived late to the venue by 7.00 pm and function with speeches and show of the event took up to 10pm. As no transportation was arranged before, a jeep was hired to transport the girls. The last one to be dropped was allegedly raped by the jeep driver who abandoned her on the road after committing the crime.
The driver was arrested later. The driver no doubt is the culprit. But the Minister who came late and the organizers who could not arrange safe transport are also blamed for their negligent attitude.
