Islands Formed in Seemandhra Due to Rains

As Vamsadhara River is swelling due to heavy rains, some of the villages in Polaki Mandal in Srikakulam district is cut off from the world.  They are deprived of electricity and drinking water.  They are sending distress calls to the authorities.  

Heavy rains in Guntur district made Amaravathi town an island.  Ten villages  in the Mandals of Bapatla, Peda Nandipadu and Kakumanu.  35 rescue camps are provided in 15 Mandals in Guntur District.  

Many colonies in Kakinada town are submerged in rain water.  1200 people residing in the low level areas of Treasury colony, Ayodhyanagar, Godarigunta, Kothapalaka, Old Bus stand, Dummulapeta, Sambamurthynagar, Recharlapeta were shifted to the safe places and rescue camps.

The entry to Vijayawada Indrakeeladri by road is closed because of the heavy rains for the last two days.  Only the way by steps is allowed to reach Kanaka Durga temple.  

Because of the continuous heavy rains in Prakasham district and roads totally submerged in rain water floods, the authorities have cancelled 160 bus services in 29 routs.  

Visakha Cyclone Warning Center announces that heavy rain fall can be expected in coming 24 hours.   Chill air is blowing on the Coastal areas at a speed of 45 to 50 km per hour.

Rain water went in to the RTC Bus Depot at Hyatnagar Hyderabad.  Many houses in the colonies in Hyatnagar are half filled with water.
