Siris Raju Passed Away

A freedom fighter and popular industrialist G.S.Raju (97) who is known as Siris Raju passed away today afternoon at the hospital where he was getting treatment for his ailments for the past few days.  

G.S.Raju and P.G.Shanbagh founded South India Research Institute (Hyderabad) Pvt.Ltd. in 1966 to manufacture bulk drugs at Gopanapalli in Rangareddy District, which was made a Public Limited Company in 1985 and became SIRIS Ltd.  The company was the first to sell Analgin in India.  The Company has its own R&D wing and it is a recognized export house.  

G.S.Raju lost his wife in 2009 who was one of the Directors in the SIRIS right from its inception in 1950.  Now he is survived by two sons and two daughters.  

Many thronged to his place to have a last sight of him and pay respects.
