TRS Bandh Status

The bandh call given by TRS President K Chandrasekhara Rao for today in protest of the arrests made yesterday and earlier by the police as a precautionary measure in the wake of Chalo Assembly call given by Telangana JAC has got a mixed response.

With the objections from CPI and BJP that KCR took the unilateral decision without caring to consult other parties who too participated in the protest yesterday, the participation in the bund is found meager.  Many leaders criticized that KCR not seen anywhere near the protests and now giving a call from his farmhouse for a bandh.

TRS leader Harish Rao is protesting in front of Siddhipeta bus depot.  TRS workers are sitting in front of Hyattnagar, Uppal and Kushaiguda bus depots.  City Bus service is going on as usual in twin cities.  As protests are going on in front of the depots, APSRTC is running only 20% of the buses.  They expressed their desire to go by the police advice in running the buses.

Bandh is observed in Adilabad District.  But as rain is heavily pouring some of the steams in the district are flowing heavy which made 50 villages to cut from other places without bus services.  Singareni coal mines workers are wearing black badges in protest.   TRS leaders are arrested in Hanmakonda, Godavarikhani, Sirisilla and Armur.

Two buses were burnt in Mahabubnagar bus depot by unidentified miscreants.  Gadwala and Acchampeta buses are confined to depots.  All trains in Telangana region are running as usual.
