Air India Dreamliners take off

Inspite of the Government's announcement today to cut down expenses on airlines,  Air India is getting ready to fly from tomorrow in respect of Dreamliners and Global flights from May 22nd.  Government has taken a decision to cut down the costs on airlines to the tune of Rs.2000 crores.  

The gap will be met by Air India by cashing its assets at Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi and Coimbatore to fetch Rs.1000 Crores.  Oil companies agreed to supply at a concessional rate to save Rs.500 Crores and its own revenue is expected to be Rs.500 Crores.  In order to get the expected revenue of Rs.500 Crores, Air India is going to reduce staff costs, agents’ commissions and interest on loans.  

Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh told today that the first flight tomorrow will take off at Delhi for Kolkata.  He also said that modifications were done in the wake of fire incidents occurred from batteries.  A fire broke from lithium ion batteries that made the B-787 planes to ground since January 17th.

A total of 27 Dreamliners were ordered out of which the fleet will reach to 14 by December as the Minister told.  The minister is also confident of international service that is going to start on 22nd May.
