A major fire accident in 10 furniture and electrical shops located at Asif Nagar have resulted in destroying them on Sunday. The incident was known to have happened in an 800 square yard plot located in the heart of the commercial area where makeshift furniture shops were erected. The fire broke out around 1am, but the fire control room was alerted only at 1.45am.

Moreover, the fire is believed to have been caused due to an electric short circuit in one of the shops. Fire fighters said that since the incident happened at night there were no casualties and injuries. "No one was around when the fire broke out. The incident was reported after the owners got calls from nearby residents who saw the fire," said a fire fighter.

Its was indeed a narrow escape from something much serious that could have happened!
