TJAC gears up as date approaches

Telangana joint action committee chairman Prof Kodandaram has said that movement for statehood for Telangana would be intensified in case a favourable decision on Telangana state doesn't come. Further, he has also demanded the Centre to give its decision on statehood issue on or before January 28.

Mr Kodandaram who met Jana Reddy and Congress leader KK has spoken to the media after the meeting.  He has alleged that a few leaders from Seemandhra region have called in for a meeting in Hyderabad with aim for obstructing the formation of Telangana state. As a mark of the protest over the same, TJAC chairman said the committee called for a silent protest between 10 am and 12 pm tomorrow. He said he invited KK to take part in the meet. Also, Kodandaram said that he would not comment on the speculations on common capital.

It has to be mentioned here that formation of Telangana state touched peak in 2009 when the entire region reportedly voiced their demand for statehood for Telangana. Subsequently, the Government of India, on December 9, 2009 declared-in front of the media-that the process for the formation of Telangana state would be initiated and an appropriate resolution would be moved in the legislative assembly of Andhra Pradesh. Since then several political parties including the national party BJP has been demanding the Centre for sticking to its decision. The announcement of formation of the state even caught the attention of the international media.
