Flemingo festival was grandly celebrated in Sullurupeta of Nellore district between January 7 and 9th to mark migration of birds from various parts of the world to Sullurupeta of Nellore (near Chennai) every year during winters. The festival received good response from the public. A large number of people from different parts of the state and even from the neighboring state Tamil Nadu to have a glimpse of Flemingo birds that migrate to this part of India every year.

The government took all steps to ensure that visitors get adequate facilities at Sullurupeta. Special cultural programmes were organized wherein some film personalities too took part and enthralled the audience. All in all, Flemingo festival this year was a big success. It has to be mentioned here that the union minister of the state for tourism(independent charge) Chiranjeevi inaugurated this festival on Tuesday grandly at Government Junior College grounds. Scores of people thronged the festival to have a glimpse of Flemingo festival.
