A court in Andhra Pradesh awarded capital punishment to a person for murdering his wife in February 2010.  Kommuri Veerabhadra Rao was a resident of Gopayyalanka in East Godavari district.  He used to live with his wife and they reportedly don't have children.

On February 24 night, Veerabhadra Rao allegedly killed his wife by hitting her with rock following which victim's mother approached the police and filed a complaint against Veerabhadra Rao. The case was tried by Amalapuram Second Additional District Court and the Judge after trying the case has  found that the accused was guilty of offense and awarded him death penalty.
