Deccan Chargers completely jeopardized?

BCCI is likely to scrap of the Hyderabad-based franchise for IPL after it had breached the contract. The bankrupt team was also left unsold in the auction in Chennai after the single bid for Rs 900 was rejected by the owners and the lenders. A filmmaker in Hyderabad had made the bid but was rejected yesterday.

The termination was however due to a breach of contract and this would call for a new auction for another new franchise for the city would be announced. It is expected that the new team and the scrapping of Deccan Chargers who had remained at the deepest abyss of the league tables for the last two seasons would be announced in the special general body meeting on Saturday in Mumbai. BCCI has also mentioned that there would be five or six more new cities being added and the bidder with the highest figures would be allowed to make a choice of the city too.

After poor performances in the last two seasons the team was plagued by the financial and other problems of the management. The players in the teams were also not paid their salaries after the Deccan Chronicle Holdings were in trouble.
