The Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam is underway at Tirumala. As per this tradition, the sanctum sanctorum will be purified with holy water. This ritual will be performed on first Tuesday before any major utsavam such as Brahmotsavam, Vaikunta Ekadasi,  Anivara Asthanam and so on. On account of Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam, the daily sevas such as Suprabatam, Tomala, Archana were performed early.

Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam was started at 6 am. The main deity was covered with pattu vasstram (silk cloth) while the ritual was underway. Initially the inner walls of sanctum sanctorum were purified with the holy water after which the objects used in the sevas were purified.
