Ruckus at press meet

The private bus owners' in the state convened a press meet in Hyderabad on Tuesday in the wake of government raids on the offices and seizing of some companies following Shirdi bus accident.   The press meet turned chaotic and ended abruptly when a few private bus operators allegedly picked up a debate with reporters. The representatives of bus companies vented out their anger at the media stating that media was projecting them as villains.  They questioned the media if paying 100 crore rupees towards the tax to the government was illegal.

In fact, a few bus owners raised slogans against the media while a few threatened reporters. The police, who plunged into the scene, arrested those who warned the reporters. This is not the way bus owners are expect to behave, said experts. The political experts also said we are in a democratic country and media is no dictator. Laws are always there to control the media and one should approach the court in case he/she feels offended by the stories published/telecast by media but should not take law into their hands.
