Mopidevi's judicial remand extended

The CBI Court has extended the judicial remand to the ex-minister and one of accused in illegal assets case, Mopidevi Venkataramana to June 21. He was produced before the court today by the police as his remand concluded. It may be recalled that Mopidevi was arrested by the CBI, when he was minister, a couple of days back for signing some controversial GOs that benefitted Nimaggadda Prasad for his Vanpic Project. CBI said it was because of these benefits, Nimmagadda Prasad invested in Jaganmohan Reddy’s companies.

Notably, there are 26 controversial GOs issued by the then YSR Government. Ministers Sabita Indra Reddy, Geeta Reddy, Dharmana Prasada Ra, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Kanna Lakshminarayana and Mopidevi Venkataramana were behind the 26 controversial GOs. The CBI already called Ponnala Lakshmaiah for questioning. While Mopidevi was arrested, the remaining ministers are also likely to be arrested by the CBI.
