A person used the photograph of US president Barack Obama to get Airtel SIM card in Nalgonda. Claimed as 21 years old, in the form, the name of the candidate as per records is M Prasad and hails from the town. He was given a SIM with number 9177523297.  As the information was leaked and became a topic of the town, a few people have complained to the SP of Nalgonda, Naveen Gulati. The SP has soon informed the Telephone Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and deactivated the number.

The police are investigating the case as to how SIM card was allotted to someone who used Obama’s photo in the SIM application form. With this news coming out, doubts are now in the air that how many people are getting SIM cards by using the photos and address proofs of others. (Phani)
