PSLV-C19 to be launched tomorrow, ISRO chairman seeks blessings of Lord

The ISRO chairman, Radhakrishnan had sought the blessings of Lord Venkateshwara in Tirumala today. He thronged the temple ahead of PSLV-C19 launch that will be launched on Thursday. He told the media that he prayed Lord for the success of PSLV-C19 rocket. He has also told that ISRO was planning to launch Chandrayan-2 in 2014.

It has to be mentioned here that ISRO is all set to lift PSLV-C19 rocket from Satish Dawan Space Centre in Sriharikota of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.  The rocket that carries 1,850 kgs microwave remote sensing satellite RISAT-1 will soar into the sky at 5.47 AM on Thursday to put the satellite into the orbit.

The best part of this satellite is that it has synthetic aperture radar (SAR) that enables to take pictures of earth even in bad weather conditions. RISAT-1 will also act as a spy satellite. After the launch, the rocket is expected to travel 536 kilometres in few seconds where RISAT-1 would separate from PSLV-C19 and enters the orbit. The satellite would, however, send signals only after 25 days.

This project is going to be another milestone in the history of India. Let us all hope that the launch becomes successful. (Phani)
