The high court today dismissed a petition filed by Eenadu chairman Ramoji Rao seeking exemption from personal appearance in the court in a case filed against him by a TRS leader.

Khammam district TRS leader Somaiah filed the petition in the High Court alleging that the Eenadu daily had twisted facts and published a false news item about him denigrating his reputation in the society.

Ramoji then approached the High Court seeking exemption from personal appearance during the hearing of the case. His plea was rejected by the state apex court. (J)
