DL quits from Cabinet owing moral responsibility

Owning moral responsibility for the congress party’s defeat in the by-elections, health minister DL Ravindra Reddy today resigned from the Cabinet.

According to unconfirmed reports, some more ministers have also decided to quit in the wake of the disastrous performance of the Congress in the by polls.

Ravindra Reddy sent his resignation letter to Congress party president Sonia Gandhi with a request to accept it immediately. Sources said Ravindra Reddy explained the reasons for the poor performance of the party in the by polls.

He said in his resignation letter that along with him all senior leaders of the party including chief minister Kirankumar reddy and PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana are responsible for the defeat of the party in the by polls.

“I am quitting as I am also responsible for the defeat of the party,” he said in his quit letter. (J)
