CBI grills Srikant Joshi in Emaar scam

The CBI today began the questioning of Mr. Srikant Joshi, CEO of the Emaar MGF in the APIIC-Emaar land scam.

A few days sago, the CBI special court had ordered 5-day CBI custody from today for Srikant Joshi. The custody will be in force till March 9.

Mr Joshi turned up at the CBI office in Hyderabad along with his lawyers at 10 am and the grilling will continue till 5 pm. The CBI has charged him with duping the APIIC to the tune of hundreds of crores of rupees by joining hands with Vijayaraghava and Sravan Gupta, the other accused in the Emaar scam.

The CBI court deferred till March 14 hearing on the anticipatory bail petition of Joshi who had challenged the charges against him.

HC admits Vijayaraghava petition

The high court today admitted a petition filed by the accused in the APIIC-Emaar land scam Mr Vijayaraghava challenging his arrest. Issuing notices to the CBI, the HC adjourned hearing on the petition till March 15. (J)
