5 dacoits killed in police encounter in Chennai

In a bid to nab the bank looted dacoits, police surrounded their hide out. Realizing the situation there was cross fire between the two parties, causing the deaths.

The Chennai Police perplexed with the Bank robbery on Tuesday, where working hard to nab the criminals. On a tip off, they found the hideout of the burglars. On reaching the spot they surrounded the hide out. The thieves in order to escape under cover of darkness fired at the police, which was returned by the sleuths too. In the melee on Wednesday night at Chennai two police men were critically injured and five dacoits were killed.

On Tuesday, a gang of robbers robbed the Indian Overseas Bank, in Chennai. Police investigating the case received information that the accused were hiding in house at Velachery. On reaching the spot they surrounded the hideout. The scene just like the one enacted in the movies occurred when both the parties cross fired at each other to gain advantage. In the firing two police personnel were hurt badly and five thieves were killed. Police recovered huge amounts of cash and weapons from the house.
