Srilakshmi completes first month in jail, remand extended

The CBI special court at Nampally in Hyderabad today extended till Feb 23 the judicial remand of the tainted IAS officer Ms. Y. Srilakshmi, accused in the illegal mining case. Sri Lakshmi has been presently lodged in the Chanchalguda jail for the last one month.

The remand of other accused in the case Gali Janardhan Reddy, his brother-in-law BV Srinivasa Reddy and former mining director Mr Rajagopal was extended till Feb 22.

The special court passed orders extending their judicial remand after conducting the hearing through video conferencing.

Srilakshmi completes one month in jail

As Srilakshmi completed one month in jail on Tuesday as the under trial prisoner in the illegal mining scam, she has been feeling at home in the jail.

Leading a meek and submissive life in her special cell as prisoner number 4637, Srilakshmi has been very courteous towards her jail officials and attendants. She has even been addressing elder attendants to her as ‘Amma’ denoting mother.

Jail officials said Srilakshmi has not been using the special kitchen given to her and consuming only the food served by jail staff. She doesn’t even get any visitors except for her husband Gopi Krishna, an IPS officer, according jail staff. (JUBS)
