3 new ministers to be inducted in AP

Chief Minister Kirankumar reddy will expand his cabinet this evening and the new ministers will take the oath at 6.28 pm at the Raj Bhavan today.

Uttamkumar reddy from Huzurabad in Nalgonda district, Mr Prasad kumar of Vikarabad in Rangareddy district and Mr Kondru Murali from Srikakulam district will take oath as new ministers.

The general administration department has sent the names of new ministers to the Raj Bhavan after the Governor ESL Narasimhan had returned to Hyderabad this afternoon after winding up his Tirupati tour.

Kirankumar held extensive consultations on cabinet expansion with the party president Sonia Gandhi during his two day tour of Delhi and returned to Hyderabad last night. The CM-Sonia talks were held on cabinet rejig in the presence of Sonia’s political secretary Ahmad Patel and Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad Sunday evening.  He was reportedly asked to go for a limited expansion.

The AP council of ministers can have a maximum of 44 ministers and its present strength is 38.
There may be heavy changes in the portfolios too and deputy chief minister Rajanarasimha is likely to get the Home portfolio, according to sources. (JUBS)
