The body of the slain Maoist leader Mr. Kishenji was identified by his brother’s daughter Deepa Rao at the Midnapore Medical College and Hospital mortuary this morning.

Police officials said that a post-mortem would be conducted on the body in the presence of forensic experts. Earlier, Kishenji’s body was brought to the Midnapore hospital from Jhargram police morgue Friday midnight under strict security.

Deepa Rao arrived in Kolkata accompanied by civil rights activist and poet Mr Varavara Rao from Hyderabad on Friday. Police brought them to Midnapore for identifying the body of Kishenji this morning.
Sources said the body would be flown to Hyderabad and Peddapalli town in Karimnagar district of AP after the post mortem. (JUBS)
