Devotee offers 162 diamonds to Lord Balaji

TTD Hundi counting staff found a bag of 162 diamonds dropped by an unidentified devotee and the value of the diamonds was assessed at Rs.1. 25 Cr.

TTD Executive Officer Mr LV Subramanyam told journalists in Tirumala today that the diamonds were found when the offerings of Monday were taken up for counting on Wednesday.

Observing that the diamonds would be used for decorating the Lord during festivals and on special occasions, he said the diamonds were offered by a Mumbai devotee. He said the devotee dropped 72 types of diamonds in the Hundi and all of them are of higher quality.

Meanwhile, Goddess Padmavathi’s Kartika Masam Brahmotsavams are being organized on a grand scale at Tiruchanur. As part of the festival, Goddess Alivelumanga was taken out in a procession on the Kalpavrisha vehicle today. (JUBS)
