The high court of AP today expressed its anger over the differences in the fees collected from students of engineering colleges in the state and cancelled the recommendations of the 2010 fee fixation committee.

The high court found fault with the two types of fees collected from the students of A and B categories. Observing there should not be any differences in the fee fixed for the students of the convener and management quotas, the court suggested the fee structure should be based on the maintenance expenditure of the colleges.

“There shouldn’t be any difference in the fees and it should be the same for all categories,” ruled the high court and ordered the government to fix new fee structure based on the expenditure before March 2012.
