Demand for Greater Rayalaseema comes to fore

mukerjeeAmid reports that the congress party trouble shooter and Union Finance Minister Mr Pranab Mukherjee will visit Hyderabad shortly as part of the Centre’s initiatives to find a solution to the Telangana issue, Rayala Seema Rashtra Samithi president Mr K. Ventakasubba Reddy today threatened to undertake fast unto death from Nov 3 for the creation of Greater Rayalaseema state.

Addressing media persons in Kadapa, Mr Reddy demanded the formation of Greater Rayalaseema with merging of districts Kadapa, Kurnool, Ananthapuram, Chittor, Nellore, Prakasam of AP and the districts of Raichur, Bellary, Kolar of Karnataka and the districts of Krishnagiri and Velur of Tamil Nadu.

Warning the Centre against creating the Rayala Telangana state merging the Ananthapuram and Kurnool districts, he said he would begin his fast unto death before the Collectorate of Kadapa and several of his supporters.
