The CBI court at Nampalli today accepted the plea of the counsel for the arrested mining mafia don and former Karnataka minister, Mr Gali Janardhan reddy and his cousin, Mr Srinivas Reddy that CBI should interrogate them in their presence.

However, the court rejected their request that the interrogation must be confined between 11 am and 5 pm and said the CBI is free to interrogate the accused at their time of choice. “You can be present there when he is interrogated but you can’t also choose the timings of interrogation,” the court told the defense counsel.

Earlier, the CBI officials went to the Chanchalguda jail and took Janardhan reddy and Srinivasa reddy into their custody after the court accepted the investigating agency’s plea to hand over them to its custody for further interrogation and investigation.

Jagan will go to jail

TDP chief Mr Chandrababu Naidu, who is touring the Prakasam district, said today that YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan reddy will meet the same fate of Janardhan reddy who is in jail.

“All people, how so ever big they are, must go to jail if they are involved in corruption,” he said during his public meetings in villages.
