Foreign devotees still flock to Puttaparthy

Foreign devotees still flock to Puttaparthy The two-day Buddha Purnima festivities that began on Tuesday at the permanent abode of the late spiritual guru Sri Satya Sai Baba at the Prashanthy Nilayam in Puttaparthy of Ananthapuram district of Andhra Pradesh are being attended by 700 international devotees.

The Satya Sai Central Trust, which has decided to conduct all festivities as usual as it did when the Baba was alive, has made all elaborate arrangements for the international devotees who have arrived two days ago from various countries including Sri Lanka, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam to participate in the Buddha Purnima festival.

The presence of international devotees in such large numbers at the Baba abode indicates that devotees would continue to worship the Baba as their guru and God even after his mortality.

For several decades, the Prashanthy Nilayam has been conducting the festivities without fail every year to mark the Jayanti of Lord Buddha. And the Baba used to give special darshan and discourses on such occasions.

The world famous spiritual master Satya Sai Baba had passed away on April 24 after battling for life in hospital for nearly a month. The Trust had also organized the Jayanthi of Eswaramma, mother of the Baba, on May 6 as usual.
