Ranks galore for AP in central services

Ranks galore for AP in central services 55 candidates from Andhra Pradesh secured ranks including the 2nd rank in the 2010-11 central civil services examinations for which the results were announced by the UPSC in Delhi on Wednesday.
 
The ranks achieved by AP candidates included those of 2, 12, 18, 20, 23, 24, 25, 26, 31, 53, 54, 83, 96, 177, 193 and 199 from among the 920 candidates selected for the country’s various civil services.
 
Swetha Mohanty, daughter of senior IAS officer PK Mohanty secured the second rank while Mr.KVN Chakradhara Babu of Visakhapatnam got the 12th rank. In all, 17 candidates from AP figured in the first 100 ranks and 50 candidates figured in the top 500 ranks.
 
Krishna Bhaskar, who was selected for the IPS with 90th rank, is the son of senior IAS officers, Mr V. Bhaskar and Ms Lakshmi Parthasarathi. Mr Abhishek Mohanty, who ranked 139, is the son of the retired IPS officer and former DGP, Mr A.K. Mohanty. Mr C.N. Deevan Reddy who secured the 496th rank is the son of senior IPS officer Mr C.N. Gopinath Reddy.
