By-polls results today! Was this necessary!

Time to relax with by-poll results out in a few moments. As the results trickle down one ponders   whether this by polls was really necessary. And an indepth analysis deep down south reveals certain facts. Why was this by-polls forced on us. Take Andhra Pradesh in the first stance where 18 seats were going for the by-polls. Well initially in 2009 the public opinion in the democratic way gave full support to the  late Y S Rajashekar Reddy led Congress party. But unfortunately for the state the elected Chief Minister died in a plane crash in September the same year, in an aviation accident. Since then the political turmoil in the state began.

As we have a chance to select our leaders democratically, they have a chance to represent us and elect their leader as a Chief Minister. But unfortunatly similar to the central politics the Congress high command decided to nominate instead of the electing in the state also. This turned a disaster for the state which has led to the present state of affairs say critics. Had a little patience and process adhered by the ruling party then teh situation would not have been this worse ascertain the critics.

Infact then the serious of incidents that followed saw a literal fall-out in teh state on all fronts. The late leader's son Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy stalked his claim on the CM's throne. And what went wrong with the high command is certainly beyond explanation to the common man. As the high command was adamant in giving no-room to the young leader. He eventually started his own party in remembrance of his father as YSR Congress. The issue became horrendous as many leaders elected by the people in the 2009 poll quit their respective parties to join up with the new formed party.

`The high command with its weapons like CBI and ACB tried all ways to ruin the emerging party. The more they tried to subdue the fervour they raised high above. In the meantime meany leaders who really had no regards for the democracy hovered from the old party to the new party and back. Unfortunately we do not have a constitution to check their activities. The leaders who were elected by the people failed to consider their voters before changing loyalities. The net result of the whole course of action was the by-polls. More such are in the offing as the results crop up,' say analysts.

Did we have a chance to avoid this unwanted expenditure to the tune of some crores: yes feel analysts had our elected representatives acted responsibly this could have been avoided. Had the high command relied on democracy to let the state leaders elect their representatives then probably this could have been avoided. Another set of leaders say that the most public was not interested in the bypolls and want the present leaders to be in power. But had that been so why the huge turnout ask critics.........no answers.`An estimated 80% of the 46 lakh voters across 18 assembly constituencies cast their franchise on Tuesday in a poll that is being watched nation-wide. "If the hand tries to stop a whirring fan, then it will get cut," Chandra said. For those who came late, hand is the Congress party's election symbol, while the fan is the symbol of the YSR Congress Party.'  says TOI.

As far as Tamil Nadu was concerned the lone Pudukottai seat went to by polls because of the suden death of the Communist Party of India (CPI) legislator S.P. Muthukumaran in a road accident in April. . Around 73 percent of the over 190,000 voters turning up to cast their ballots.

One thing is for sure people want to voice their strong opinion to the state politicians with their phenomenal votion stats, feel critics. Let us wait and see what they want to tell us.  As the day closes some might be remorse while others might be enjoying in the victory bliss. However respect democracy and democracy will see social rise. India is  a democratic country and probably the most blessed one too.  (With inputs from internet-AarKay)
