Uttar Pradesh state is currently suffering with power crisis and just when the government also could not do anything, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav took a bold decision. On Monday, Akhilesh has directed senior officials of the power department to supply around the clock power to the temple city, Varanasi.

As we know, Varanasi is the constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he promised to make the city and world class one. The decision arrived after UP CM Akhilesh met the BJP MLA from Varanasi, Shyama Dev Rai Chaudhary, who was on an indefinite fast for the last seven days demanding uninterrupted power supply to Varanasi.

In fact Akhilesh defended his decision and said in a statement, “Varanasi is one of the significant places in the country and pilgrims from different parts of state and from abroad come here. This decision would not only help the local but also the tourists.”
