Defective EVM transfers votes to Congress

The Election Commission officials have replaced and Electronic Voting Machine [EVM] as voters reported that their votes are getting transferred to Congress. The incident took place in Pune at a polling booth at Shamrao Kalmadi School and when voters found that whichever button was pressed on the EVM, only the Congress light blinked.

Bewildered by this voters brought it to the notice of Election Commission officials and the polling has stalled. The local BJP activist Madhur Sahasrabuddhe reached the spot and appealed to replace the EVM and the authorities too replied positively and ordered for a new EVM.

The Election Commission authorities has also decided to permit around 28 voters who had already cast their votes with the defective EVM, to vote afresh.
