BJP complains to EC over Cobrapost Sting

Bharatiya Janata Party has registered a complain at the Election Commission of India [EC] regarding the Cobrapost Sting operation on 1992 Babri mosque demolition. BJP questioned the timing of the release of Sting operation as elections are hardly days away.

The Cobrapost said that Vishwa Hindu Parishad [VHP], Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh [RSS], and the Shiv Sena trained special cadre for the demolition  of the 16th century mosque. It also claimed that claims then prime minister PV Narasimha Rao of the Congress, BJP's LK Advani, then UP CM Kalyan Singh knew about the demolition prior.

Meanwhile the BJP accused Congress of doing conspiracy during the elections for the sake of electoral gains. BJP's Mukhtar Abbaz Naqvi said, “more than the content of the report, the timing of its release is controversial. It is all Congress's game plan and we have approached EC to take action.”
