The police used water canon on the protestors.

Rahul-Gandhi-remarks

The riots issue of 1984 came into limelight when Rahul Gandhi in an interview to a new television channel said some of the Congressmen were involved in the riots and they were also punished by the court. The protestors claimed that the Congress is protecting the accused leaders of riots and has done nothing in past 30 years.

Meanwhile Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the cabinet will take up a SIT probe on 1984 riots. The Sikh bodies welcomed Delhi CM's decision but have asked him no to play politics in the issue of 1984 riots just for the sake of political benefit.
