A powerful earthquake generated tsunami warning!

On Wednesday, a powerful earthquake in the South Pacific generated a tsunami that prompted warnings to several island nations.
According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre, the sea level readings indicate a tsunami formed after the 8.0 earthquake near the Solomon Islands and that it may be destructive near the epicenter and that more distant coasts may be threatened.

Moreover, the quake occurred near Lata in Temotu province, the easternmost province of the Solomons even though there are no report in regard to the damages or causalities.

To say more, tsunami warning is in effect for the Solomons, Vanuatu, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Tuvalu, New Caledonia, Kosrae, Fiji, Kiribati, Wallis and Futuna and that a tsunami watch is in effect for American Samoa, Australia, New Zealand and eastern Indonesia.

It's a moment of panic for the  South Pacific!
