Chennai's earthquake most searched on Google!

Chennai was the most searched item in Google, as per a recent survey revealed by the giant. In reality the earthquake that shook many parts of Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Nagapattinam and other areas, equally shook the world. There were wide queries on the social network and of course on Google.

News about the earth quake featured on the Top 10 most searched events on Google in India in 2012.

The strong tremors felt on April 11 following a massive earthquake in Indonesia, which was speculated to turn into Tsunami was on top 10 searches of the year. People of the state trembled after reckoning painful memories of devastation that the Tsunami had brought in 2004, nearly 7,000 people residing in the coastal area died.

On the fateful day many ran out of homes in panic, even school students gathered in large numbers in open places. The epi-centre of the quake was off the west coast of Sumantra and occurred around 2.08 pm, according to official sources. (Wishesh AarKay)
