Mumbai plagued by suicides

Soon after the tragic news of the death of Varsha, the daughter of the maestro singer Asha Bhonsale, the city has registered three more fresh cases of suicides. All the victims were under 30 years of age.

In one case, Sagar Gosavi (20), a student of HSC had succumbed to depression after his mother, a domestic help, could not afford his tution fee. He also had two sisters and his dad passed away in his young age. He took to the extreme decision to hang himself from a ceiling fan at his home in Kalyan.

In Ulhasnagar, Suresh Lahane had also committed a suicide at his house. The unemployed man was only 27 years old. The third case of suicide was in the Ambernath jurisdiction. Gudiya Jha, also 27, had decided to kill herself at her residence.
