Bomb blast in Manipur

In the M Sector, army office, inside the office complex of the Manipur capital complex, a powerful bomb was detonated early in the morning at 5:30 am  but there were no casualties fortunately.

The reason behind the blast or how the explosion took place was unknown. The explosion was dangerously close to the Raj Bhavan and the renowned Johnstone Higher Secondary School at the heart of the city in a high security building.

The blast could be heard from 3km away from the site of explosion. The area had been cordoned by the army officials and a few passers-by have been frisked to check for evidence.

Media people were not allowed inside the M-Sector premises but they were told that they would soon be allowed. No information regarding the bomb was revealed. It is not yet known if the explosion was an accidental explosion inside the complex or if there was an attack on the complex.

Manipur fire service office is on the western side of the M-Sector while national highway 39 is in front of it in eastern side. Raj Bhavan adjoining it is in the south while Johnstone Higher Secondary School is in the north.
