Dadhikando Mela brings colors to Allahabad

The city turned vibrant with the Dadhikando Mela of Teliarganj, which was conducted with great pomp. There were colorful lights blaring everywhere while the religious tracks could be heard on all the streets.

The highlight of the even was the Lord Krishna Statue. The statue was made of solid silver and was worth over 2 lakhs. The aarti for the event had been given at the thakur Dwar and the procession was taken out to the traditional routes of the city. The Engineering College, Balu Mandi Silakhana were all doused in colors and bright lights.
The mela was also embraced by the crowd from the city while they had depleted all the delicacies that were out for sale on account of the mela in the makeshift shops along the routes.
The important mela had seen the presence of several political celebrities such as the mayor Abhilasha Gupta Nandi, BJP leader Narendra Singh Gaur, Shayam Krishna Pandey, Harsh Bajpai, Uma Shankar Pandey, Shakil Islam, Mohd Arif and Lallan Lal Kushwaha.
