4 more struck with Swine Flu

To add to the list of the people struck by swine flu 4 new patients were tested positive for H1N1 on Friday. The total number of people infected with swine flu now stands at 15 already this month in Pune alone.

One of the 4 people, a 62 year old man hailing from Shivajinagar, is in a critical stage. The medical officer of health said that he was on non-invasive ventilator at Sanjeevan Hospital. The other three are stable with their healt conditions at different hospitals in Pune.
A 27 year woman has been admitted to the Jehangir Hospital. A 23 year old girl from Laxminagar, Yerwada has been quarantined at home while the last case was a 37 year old from Kharadi who is receiving treatment from Inlaks Budhrani Hospital.

There were 15 cases of Swine flu in Pune this month while one had succumbed to the disease and died. Harishchandra Lonkar, a 55 year old was the first casualty identified right after the onset of monsoons died on 11th of July.

According to the WHO the H1N1 virus should die out soon by the end of this year approximately.
