Broadband connectivity in CSCs

Pilot said that DeitY is vigorously addressing the problems which are faced by the Common Service Centers like inadequate broadband connectivity and power availability, lack of Government to Citizen (G2C) Services and training of Village Level Entrepreneurs.

The Minister of State of Communications and Information Technology, Sachin Pilot, on Wednesday informed the Lok Sabha that as on 31st March 2012, out of a total of 88,000 Common Service Centres (CSCs) in operation across the country, about 73,000 CSCs are with  broadband connectivity. He informed that Indian Market Research Bureau (IMRB), a professional agency engaged by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) had conducted a Mid Term Assessment Study of the CSC Scheme in April 2010.

Pilot said that DeitY is vigorously addressing the problems which are faced by the Common Service Centers like inadequate broadband connectivity and power availability, lack of Government to Citizen (G2C) Services and training of Village Level Entrepreneurs.
