Major Maoists dump of explosives unearthed in Orissa

Maoists have been terrorizing the Andhra-Orissa borders since some time. The entire area is filled with dense forest and this becomes an ideal hide out for their activity.

Border Security Forces monitoring the interstate borders, today in the early hours, have unearthed what is said to be a major dump of deadly ammunition belonging to Maoists. The haul was found by search teams at the Malkangir District in Orissa. The BSF was on a regular exercise going through the Maoist dominated area Teakuguda forests, when the dump was unearthed.

The BSF haul has been termed by the sources as one of the major explosive deposits of the Maoists, in the recent times. The explosive deposit included twelve electrical detonators, seven gelatin sticks, thirty meters of codex wires and twenty meters of electrical wires.

The BSF has intensified its combing operation in the area and trying their best to evacuate the hidden Maoists. Maoists have been terrorizing this belt since some time. The operation whether acted on a tip off or was it a casual one is yet to be ascertained. Further confirmation from the BSF sources would give better insight in to the event.
