Talvar Story
Talvar is the story of a real life incident that has shaken the whole country, i.e the mysterious death of 14 year old Arushi Talvar which is still clueless. The film explains about the happening of the incident along with the investigation. Inspector Ashwin Kumar (Irrfan Khan) takes the charge to investigate the case. Nutan Tandon (Konkona Sen Sharma), Ramesh Tandon (Neeraj Kabi), their daughter Shruti Tandon (Ayesha Parveen) and their domestic help Khempal are the main characters. After several investigations done by the CDI (Central Department of Investigation), twist arises and the movie takes a U turn. Talvar Analysis
The first half of the movie takes the major role in creating the needed impact of a thriller. The narration has been quite gripping and the script is the undisputed hero of the movie. The most sensible point has been handled in a simple and flawless manner. On the whole the complete first half of Talvar has elements that will be remembered well.
The second half of the movie slows down after the interval episode. However the interest has been maintained throughout and the pre interval episodes catch pace and the audience will be kept engaging on the edge of their seats till the end. On the whole the complete second half is outstanding which has many highlights.
Performance
Irrfan Khan who has proved his acting skills steals the show completely right from the first scene. He has been compelling and he dominated the movie in all the ways. Konkana Sen Sharma has been convincing and Tabu has been impressive in the cameo. Neeraj Kabi needs a special mention as a hopeless and helpless father and he suited the character well. All the other actors have been outstanding with their assignments.
The story of the film is a known secret for everyone who are regular followers of news. The screenplay and the dialogues of the movie have been handled brilliantly. Vishal Bharadwaj should be praised for his terrific contribution for screenplay and dialogues. The background score of Talvar elevates the film well and the editing has been crisp. The cinematography of the film is the other highlight along with some decent production values. Meghna Gulzar excelled in executing the film in an engaging way.
