Brothers Story

As said, Brothers is a remake of Warrior. Akshay (David) and Sidharth (Monty) are brothers to each other and sons of Jackie Shroff. David lives the street life and becomes a teacher after growing up, whereas Monty carries the torch of fighting he learnt from his dad as a kid.

A few situations put Jackie Shroff in jail for years. Jacqueline Fernandez plays Akshay’s wife, who has a daughter, fell seriously ill. What is the past of David with Monty and why they had to fight or take revenge on the opponent? What made his father go to jail? The answers for all these questions, is what the movie is all about.

Brothers Analysis

The first half of the film starts with Jackie’s release from prison and then the film shows the flashback, which led for his imprisonment for the years. How his two sons perceive him after so many years and gets ready to take further step to clear the pathetic past, will be the plot of the first half.

Coming to second half, a number of martial arts scenes of the two brothers occupy the major timing. Akshay’s emotional scenes for his daughter drag all the attention. Kareena Kapoor’s special song will attract the masses. The climax fight will be the major attraction of the second half. On the whole, both the first and second halves have a lot to do with the plot.

Performance

As said during the Brothers movie promotions itself, Akshay has given his blood to the movie. Be it emotional, fierce, war sequences or any other emotions, Akshay has delivered his career best performance. Sidharth’s hard work can be felt in Brothers movie. Especially he tried to work on getting that fierce looks and hunk body. But his characterization is not constructed properly. Anyway, Sidharth cannot be blamed for that. He just did his job well. 

Jackie Shroff is the character, who needs a sure mention after the leading characters. After a long time, Jackie was given a best character, in which he could give his best, Jackie kept up his image and awards might not control themselves, from coming to him, this time. Jacqueline Fernandez is apt for the role and Kareena’s glamour in Mary song, will wake up the audience, who are sleeping in the theatre. Rest other characters did their job perfectly, for the characters they are assigned to.

Director Karan Malhotra might be the only person, to be cornered, for not able to bring out the terrific movie ‘Warrior’, as a remake, as per the expected standards. There are many dips in first and second halves. The narration levels leaves audience into deep dilemma, as to what is exactly happening in the movie. Ajay-Atul music is ok and Karan Johar’s production values are rich.
